The Everest Base Camp Trek from Jiri starts at an elevation of 1800m and passes through several watersheds. The elevation will reach from 1500 m in river banks and climbs average above 3000m. The journey to Everest from Jiri will be just after an eight-hour drive from Kathmandu to Jiri (188km). This is the oldest route to Everest region before the discovery of road and aircraft. This is the traditional caravan trail where the Sherpa from the Himalayas used to trade goods to Kathmandu and Vice-Versa. The trail penetrates the alpine forests, glaciers, rivers and the various ethnic human settlements resembling different culture and traditions. Everest Base Camp Trek from Jiri Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel

Our company representatives will pick you up from Tribhuvan International Airport you will be transferred to three-star category hotel in a private car. Hotel Check-in, resting time, freshen up time will be provided and you have to get ready for the meeting in the company office. The meeting includes the brief explanation of the activities, do and don’ts, and details description of the itinerary. Also, you will receive your permits to enter Sagarmatha National Park. After the completion of the meeting you will be taken for welcome dinner accompanied with Nepali music, dance and cuisines in best typical Nepali restaurant with Nepali Themes. 

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and Tour and Trek Preparation

The sightseeing features some of the major landmarks and UNESCO world heritage sites of Kathmandu valley including Pashupatinath Temple, Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa. This trip will freshen up your mind and will provide the opportunity to come across the culture and tradition of Nepal. Similarly, you will also experience the ancient royal lifestyle. You will come to see the rituals, belief, and lifestyle of people around the Kathmandu valley. After the trip, all of you are requested to gather in our office for the remaining trek preparation like finalizing your clothing and training to handle the trekking gear if necessary.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Jiri, 7 to 8 hours, (1,955m/6,414ft)

The trip begins with the breakfast and your guide will pick you up from the hotel.  You will reach Jiri after 7 to 8 hours long drive. On the way, u will be entertained by amazing scenic beauty, farmlands, highway markets and much more. You can even walk around during evening in order to discover more about Jiri.

Day 04: Trek Jiri to Shivalaya, 4 hours (1,770m/5,807ft)

The initial day trek begins from Jiri to Shivalaya which is around 4 hours trek. You have to climb up steep hills and cross the ridge in a place called Chitre and climb down to meet the suspension bridge. Roam around the village and night stay at the lodge.

Day 05: Trek Shivalaya to Bhandar, 5-6 hours, (2,190m/7,185ft)

The Trek to Bhandar will take you to the top of the hill for that you have to climb uphill. You can enjoy the amazing view of the valley, snow peaked mountains and villages. After that, your trail descends to Bhandar. Overnight in Bhandar.

Day 06: Trek from Bhandar to Sete, 7 hours, (3,220m/8,858ft)

After the enjoyment of your breakfast, the track will climb down to the valley leaving behind the beautiful village. You will come across a river and after crossing the bridge you have to walk until you reach Kinja.Take a short rest and continue to Sete for night stay.

Day 07: Trek Sete to Junbeshi, 6 to 7 hours (2,700m/8858ft)

The trail features the magnificent aromas of Rhododendron flower, pine forest, and Juniper trees, the hike will head to steep ahead until Lamjura high Pass and again drops down to Sherpa village called Junbeshi.

Day 08: Rest or Acclimatize day

The day will fully rest day and you have to cope up your body with the altitude. Altitude sickness is the major problem in high mountains region. Just walk around short hike or roaming around the market will be an advantage.

Day 09: Trek from Junbeshi to Nunthala, 6 to 7 hours, (2,194m/7,198ft)

The few hours ups and down in the hills will introduce you with the beautiful village of Nunthala. You will have your breakfast in Junbeshi and continue your walk as early as possible. After the intersection with the bridge you will reach the place called Ringboo and after walking up to the top you will reach Takshinda. You will love the great experience of walking by forest. Overnight at Nunthala.

Day 10: Trek From Nunthala to Kharikhola, 4 to 5 hours (2,040m/6,692ft)

After the breakfast in Nunthala you have to hike down till you reach the river where you will see a suspension bridge. After than climb steep trail till you reach the Kharikhola.

Day 11: Trek from Kharikhola to Paiya, 5 to 6 hours (2,730m/8,956ft)

Today we will climb up till Bupsa which features the stone steps reaching up to Karila pass. The trail covers forests, mountain views and tea houses on the way to Paiya. Overnight in Paiya.

Day 12: Trek to Phakding, 6 to 7 hours, (2,652m/8,700ft)

The trek beings with the easy trails of the village and descend down towards the river. Crossing the bridge via settlement just down to Lukla Airport. On your way, you will get a chance to discover Mount Khumbalia, a holy mountain which is never been conquered. The trek continues the bank of Dudhkoshi river until you reach Phakding where you will be staying for the night to acclimatize You can enjoy your free time in Phakding as it is the famous shopping destinations of the region.

Day 13: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, 6 hours (3,440m/11,238ft)

The trek will begin as you will finish your breakfast at Phakding. After few uphills and downhills towards north back dropping the conical pine forest and high suspension bridge you will discover the settlements named Monjo where your guide will assist you to accomplish the necessary formalities and permit check in Sagarmatha National Park. After crossing suspension bridge you will come across Jorsale Village and walk through Dudkoshi and Bhotekoshi Rivers. Day 14: Rest Day (Acclimatization Day)

Namche Bazaar is one the developed town in Everest region with the infrastructure like bank, ATM, shops, restaurants and colorful market. The trekkers can get the astonishing view of Everest with Sunrise over the mystic Himalayas. You even can get to know about Hilary school and local Monasteries.

Day 15: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860m/12,664ft) 5 hours

The walk begins after the breakfast in Namche Bazaar following the north ridge to reach the place called Choorkung. You will get an opportunity to discover the breathtaking view of Thamserkhu, Amadablam, Lhotse and Everest on your way. The path continues to the junction of Gokyo Valley and Sanasa. Day 16: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m/14,300ft): 9km, 5 - 6 hours

After breakfast in Tengboche, you start your way to Everest base camp admiring the beauty of nature, rhododendron, and coniferous pine forest. After walking down to Debuche and pass by Imja River to arrive at Pangboche. You will also encounter the Pangboche Monastery and experience the beauty of Pangboche trial. Our walk will continue to Imja valley and Lobuche River prior climbing to Dingboche. A Dingboche is an agricultural village with a delightful view of buckwheat, barley and Potato field contrasting the background of Lotse, Peak 38, and Island Peak. Day 17: Dingboche – Third Acclimatization day

This is the final acclimatization day before reaching Everest Base Camp where you can have a rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Moreover, after breakfast, your trek guide will take you to hike elegant Nangkar Tshang Gompa and Hermitage. This hike will provide ample opportunity to enjoy the mesmerizing view of top six world tallest peak like Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Day 18: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche -5 hours walk (4,910/16,108ft)

After breakfast in Dingboche, climbing the ridge to the village of Dusa and Palrung Kharka. From there you will trek to Dughla capturing the view of Kantega, Ama Dablam, Taboche, Cholaste. Coming across the trail junction from the way you hike down, you will have to cross the glacial stream scaling up to Khumbu Glacier. After climbing in about an hour you will come across memorials of brave person who lost their life in expedition comprising Scot Fisher and Babu Tsheri Sherpa. From the very point, you will be greeted with a beautiful landscape of Pumori peak until where the trek will be easier, and you will come to face across the demanding Moraine of Lobuche. If you wish to hike around Lobuche you can explore the Khumbu Glacier, Nuptse and Lhotse. Overnight stay in Lobuche till next climbing.

Day 19: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170 m/16,961ft), visit Everest Base Camp (5364 m/17,594 ft): 13km, 6 to 7 hours
